How to make sublimation print?

To make a sublimation print, we need to start by preparing the design. The advantage of sublimation is that it does not limit us in terms of colors. If we already have a design or a ready-made file with an image, the next step is to print it in a mirrored image on a sublimation paper using a sublimation printer. It is important to set the parameters in the printer to the highest possible and avoid the fast printing mode.

Once we have the print on sublimation paper, we move on to the actual transfer. We place the product on which we want to make the print, such as a polyester T-shirt, in a press heated to a minimum of 180 degrees. Then, we place the printed graphic face down on the product. We can perform the transfer on soft fabrics for about 120 seconds, but this parameter should be adjusted based on our experience, our products, and the equipment we use. During the transfer, it is a good idea to cover the product with covering paper to avoid any possible stains.

In summary:

◼ Prepare the design

◼ Print on sublimation paper using a sublimation printer

◼ Sublimation transfer in a heat press

It is essential to keep in mind that many factors influence the sublimation printing process and the final effect. These factors range from the quality of the materials used, the equipment available, the experience of the printer, to the humidity and temperature in the room.
